Am I a travel agent?

Got a call from cruisevalue.com last Thursday, but I didn't hear the message until late Friday. They sounded urgent and asked me to call back ASAP. I called them today and found out that the reservation I made for my father's friends needed 3rd party credit card authorization. I had used my own credit card to make the reservation for someone else, so Costa Cruises needed this form signed within 48 hours, otherwise, they will cancel the reservation. It took me an hour to sort this out, but I had trouble faxing the signed form over to Costa Cruises. So I faxed the form to Cruisevalue first and then they faxed it over to Costa Cruises. I will re-fax the form to Costa Cruises again on Tuesday. Although the service provided by cruisevalue.com is very good, but had I used a traditional travel agent, I wouldn't have to deal with this credit card authorization business, my travel agent would have taken care of it.

Anyways, it was a very inexpensive cruise. A 15-day trans-Atlantic cruise on the Costa Fortuna was only $618 per person. That's cheaper per day than our overnight stay at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach tomorrow. We paid $100 plus tax/fees via Priceline.
